Comcast Sucks

April 14th, 2005

More tomorrow. Are the cable Gods conspiring against me? We’ll see after tonight, won’t we? In other words, I’ve SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT TRYING TO GET ON TO THE STUPID INTERWEB.

Comcast, I hate you as much as Julia Mae. And that’s a whole lot.

We’ve been plagued by Comcast’s problems too, but I found a fairly simple solution. What operating system do you use? If you use Windows XP I can walk you through it. You just need to change your DNS settings. You can use Verizon DSL’s DNS servers, which are:

    Primary DNS: 4.2.2.1
    Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2

This is not a solution Comcast would give you, but their DNS servers are wacked right now. Until they get their act together, this seems to work. Email me if you want more info.

Yeah and that’s not your only problem folks. I worked for this giant company till recently when I got so fed-up with their BS that I literally turned around and left.

At Comcast they want techs to lie to customers, to tell them green-in-the-face that it is THEIR TV not working and not the deffective Motorola HD box that has known bugs and issues and it would cost a lot of money to mass-fix that. Instead, it is much easier to just deal with those customers that keep calling and ignore the ones that call only once or twice.
Also, dont ever order anything more that basic from these people. For example, they’ll charge some $150 to do a home network and don’t even rain technicians in how to do that. Yes , that’s true. They take people that have been doing video for 10 years, give them a router and two wireless cards and off you go!-do a network. It will be very frustrating and they’ll charge u too for trouble calls!
What they dont want you to know is that you can get the whole thing done on your own for half that money.
The supervisors @ Comcast are dumber than their dumbest technicians too. Beware if you think that you can fix something by escalating the issue! No siree, you’re wasting your time.
In conclusion-Comcast-full of idiots although good Internet and good Standard tv-stay away from advanced products like home networking and HDTV.
