I still hate Adriana Lima and Victoria’s Secret, I just made an exception out of loyalty and desperation, or at least that’s what I’m telling myself. But I’m quite happy with the two I bought. Call me cheap, but the best bras I’ve found lately have been at Target, Let me just grab one off the doorknob here and see who the manufacturer is … Gilligan & O’Malley, and the print on the closure (no tag!) says Ultimate. They were in the $12 range, and I am very pleased with the comfort and support, Because A cups need a lot of support – you didn’t know?

Beth beat me to it – and I have a sometimes hard-to-find size: 34/6 (really like a 35…but they don’t make that size, do they?) D. Yet I still manage to find cute, comfy bras at Ross.

I *knew* there must be some hidden issue with the mooncup. I have the thyroid/always heavy period thing too, and would expect disaster to lurk around every corner.

More puppy pictures, ppppwwweaaase! The tongue is so. darn. cute.

My new favorite place for bras: Ross. I swear, I found all kinds of name brand bras there for under ten bucks apiece. There’s nothing wrong with them — just discontinued or whatever. I had to try on a bunch, but I’ll prolly never buy bras anywhere else again.

Well.

Since you asked, and what the hell, others may benefit from this disaster.

I have a thyroid problem, which manifests itself in…heavy periods at times, if my levels are off. I think a slight tweak in my levels, along with a strange, freakish period that was OVERWHELMINGLY HEAVY SWEET JESUS, and yet was only two days, was the culprit, but honestly, I, ah, filled the cup in an hour. Twice. While wearing khakis. The day after bragging about its wonders. For the first time in my adult life, I had to go to Target (the closest store) in the middle of a workday and buy the world’s ugliest skirt, because it was just. that. bad. I carried my bag behind me to block the disaster that was unfolding before the world’s eyes, because oh, IT WAS UNFOLDING.

The thing is, with tampons, I would have seen it coming – you can FEEL when things are getting out of control down there, whereas with the cup, you have no warning until disaster strikes. Granted, most normal people would never in a bofrillion years have this problem, as it is very specific to my odd little body chemistry, but oh man, it was awful, just awful, and one of the grossest things I’ve ever had to deal with, ever.

Right now at work I’m wearing a hanes cotton sports bra that I got on sale at Walgreens. I’m 36A – or so I thought until everything got uncomfortable. The hanes barely there are ok. I used to wear Victoria Secret items. I hate Victoria Secret. I cannot find the perfect bra.

I almost have the ladies here at work considering the moon cup. I haven’t gotten one yet but I will!
