Was It Worth It?
April 23rd, 2009
Not sure how anyone could look at that face and say anything but. I mean, could you? Could you deny this face anything, even in light of The Screaming?
I didn’t think so. I’d give her anything in the whole world.

Oh, she is so gorgeous. GORGEOUS.
Also, one of the reasons why I want to have kids is that despite all the bad stuff, nobody ever seems to REGRET having kids. No matter how tough it is, it ALWAYS seems to be worth it.

Aww, what a doll. I follow your twitter and I am SO GLAD you have an appointment with the specialist on Monday. I can’t imagine seeing your baby scream from the pain for so long. And making it until June would have been just impossible.

She is adorable. And she has so much hair! My son ALMOST has that much hair, and he’s 4 months older than Sam.

What a sweetie pie.
Just a note to say I’ve been in your shoes, and I survived. The reflux, the hours and hours of screaming, for months on end, the frustration, all of it.
We were close to her being 6 months old before things finally simmered down, and the screaming stopped. For first time parents, that was really, really hard. (The hardest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life, actually)
The only advice I can give someone going through the same situation is hang in there. I wont promise that it will get better soon, or that you’ll ‘get use to’ the screaming, or any crap like that. Just hang in there.

Ali, SIX MONTHS. No. NO NO NO. OH MY GOD, NO. God bless you for making it that long, but my God. That’s horrible for all of you.
I will, so help me Jesus, CAMP OUT in my pediatric GI’s office before that happens. Seriously, no.

Both my kids had reflux, and both of them were on the meds for around 9 months. It worked great (takes a couple of weeks to kick in, though), and they eventually outgrew the reflux. I know it is horrid. My oldest was also a Super Puker, and my youngest would only sleep in her swing for about 6 minutes at a time, so there was a lot of great times. Just wanted to encourage you, and it will all be fine in the end.

I don’t understand why this is happening but I feel a strong urge to reach through the screen and pinch her cheeks. She’s so sweet.

Definitely worth it, even with the screaming. She’s adorable!

O, NO QUESTION.
Also? Her cheeks and Alex’s cheeks (from his early days) could have had some sort of Cheek-Off. Or Cheeklympics. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/59139543@N00/298246476)

She is beautiful – and growing so fast! She doesn’t look newborn-ish anymore. It is amazing how much they change in the first year.

I couldn’t possibly deny those cheeks anything. Does she want a pony, perchance?
24. Sarah | April 28th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Those cheeks are about to FALL OFF HER FACE. Smoosh.

I always hated being asked that question. Like, if I said, “No. No, not at all. Thanks for making me realize it.” I wouldn’t have been horribly judged. And yet I always got these bored looked when I said (pissily as I was exhausted and a wee bit crabby) that of COURSE it was worth it you brainless asshole.
